The Human Rights Foundation (HRF) is a non-profit organization that focuses on promoting and protecting human rights globally, with an emphasis on authoritarian regimes. HRF organizes the Oslo Freedom Forum. The Human Rights Foundation was founded in 2005.
Why shamed: Their "Financial Freedom" program examines how authoritarian governments use economic controls to suppress dissent. These controls may include surveillance of financial activity, targeted asset freezes, inflationary currency policies, and the exclusion of critics, journalists, and civil society organizations from access to banking systems.

The program supports initiatives to increase financial resilience among human rights defenders, including training on the use of decentralized tools such as cryptocurrencies, encrypted digital wallets, and privacy-preserving technologies. It also promotes financial literacy for individuals operating in closed societies.

They accept donations in the form of traceable BTC, but do not mention Monero even once as a means of protecting dissidents. Their website is barely accessible via Tor.

This appears to exclude data protection in the financial sector, as their campaigns never address this issue. Donations are accepted only via SEPA transfer or through the campaign funding platform “betterplace,” which offers no anonymity or data protection.

Why shamed: Signal launched a scam cryptocurrency called MobileCoin, which heavily lifted inspiration from Monero. Instead of integrating the already popular Monero into Signal, they instead received Series A funding for their project that has almost no usage today. Insiders likely pump and dumped the ghost chain. A premined centralized scam, into the trash it goes!
